Leeds sign Ekuban until 2020

Italian-born striker of Ghanaian descent Caleb Ansah Ekuban has signed a three-year move to English Championship side Leeds United from Chievo Verona, the two clubs have officially announced the deal.

The 23-old is a product of Chievo's junior side but did not make any official appearance for the Italian side. Since 2013, he has been on loan at three different clubs, with Albanian giants Partizani Tirana his last destination.

He was able to score 17 goals in 37 appearances for Partizani last season as they finished second in the local top-flight.

"Leeds United are delighted to announce the signing of Caleb Ekuban from Serie A outfit Chievo Verona," a club statement read.

After penning his contract, Ekuban assured he is ready for the new challenge.

"Now, everything is done. I'm here, I'm ready for your love," he told the club media.

According to Leeds' official website, Ekuban could feature for the Whites in Wednesday’s friendly with North Ferriby United and will travel to Austria on the squad’s pre-season tour later this week as they prepare to make a return to the Premier League.

Former Ghana striker Tony Yeboah played for Leeds between 1995 and 1997, scoring a total of 32 goals in 66 appearances.
