Gor Mahia's poor defending to blame for defeat against Bandari

Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr has faulted poor defending as the main reason why his side succumbed to its first defeat of the season.

Ten-man Bandari brought to a halt the 22-match unbeaten run by Gor Mahia following a hard-fought 2-1 victory at the Mbaraki Stadium on Tuesday.

First-half goals from Dan Guya and Yemi Mwana gave the Dockers unimaginable victory against the defending champions.

Gor Mahia pulled a consolation with ten minutes to go courtesy of Jacques Tuyisenge. Kerr has promised to put a lot of work on his defence as he prepares to face Posta Rangers in their next league outing.

"We conceded the two goals from set pieces, something that did not go down well with me.

“We have never had time to fix our undoing on the pitch owing to congested fixtures. Well, my players fought to the end, we had six shots on goal but not the result we wanted.

"But congratulations to Bandari, they won the game, and for us, it is back to preparations for the next match," Kerr told Goal.

K'Ogalo are still top of the table with 56 points, eleven more than Bandari, who jumped to second.
