Cameroon hero Aboubakar's strike not enough to rescue Besiktas

Cameroon’s Africa Cup of Nations hero –Vincent Aboubakar- could not emulate his heroics from the recent tournament in Gabon when he came on from the bench in Besiktas’ 2-1 loss to Karabukspor in a Super Lig match on Friday.

The talisman was featuring for the first time for his side since netting the winner from the bench when the Indomitable Lions snatched the continently title from Egypt a week ago.

Ermin Zec and Yevhen Seleznyov had given the Blue Flame the lead as Aboubakar was introduced from the bench.

The Cameroon international pulled one back for his side moments after coming on but could not inspire a late fightback for Black Eagles.

The strike was Aboubakar’s fourth in 15 appearances so far this season and with the Afcon heroics, Hugo Broos will look to strengthen his side ahead of the upcoming CAF Confederatons Cup and will be hoping that the 25-year-old continues where he left off in Gabon.

Cameroon are also in a very competitive group for the 2018Wolrd Cup and will look to challenge their rivalis, meaning the 25-year-old will be required to double his efforts.
