This week saw intense action in the AFC Cup 2017 with several clubs sealing progress to the next stage as they seek continental glory in the second-tier competition.
Among all the stellar performances that we saw, we have picked out three standout performers for the fans to deliberate upon and decide whose contribution was the best of the lot.
The first candidate is Johor Darul Ta'zim forward Gabriel Guerra who scored a marvellous hat-trick in a must-win game for his side against Magwe FC. The 3-1 win, courtesy the Argentine striker's fantastic performance, also ensured Johor reached the ASEAN zone semifinals. He was also selected as Goal's Player of the Week.
Our second candidate is Saham SC's Mohammad Al Ghassani who also helped himself to a hat-trick against Nejmeh in a 3-1 win. The result ensured Saham SC avoided the bottom spot in Group C.
Our final candidate is Hanoi FC's attacking midfielder Nguyen Van Quyet, who scored a fantastic brace in the Vietnamese side's 4-1 win over Malaysian outfit Felda United. Though the result could not propel them to the top of the table, Van Quyet's goals on the night were as impressive as any.
