Sofapaka vow to remain in Kenyan top league

Sofapaka chairman Elly Kalekwa has insisted that his team will remain in Kenyan Premier League irrespective of Sports Tribunal ruling.

They moved to the Sports Dispute Tribunal to condemn the federation’s decision and as they wait to know their fate, Kalekwa has stayed put on ensuring that Sofapaka features in 2017 season. He simply reads mischief in the Club licensing penalty vowing that they cannot be taken aback as a club.

“There is no law that says a team which has sportingly merited can be demoted to a lower league. We cannot allow to be taken very many steps back to a place we were in ten years ago,” he told Goal.

The case at the tribunal is still ongoing with two sittings having been conducted. The next hearing is set for Wednesday March 15.
