England captain Wayne Rooney says that he and his team-mates have developed a winning mentality under Roy Hodgson.
The Manchester United star scored the equaliser from the penalty spot as the hosts came from behind to beat Slovenia 3-1 at Wembley in his 100th international appearance, their fifth consecutive international win following the World Cup.
And Rooney insists that he and his team-mates now believe that they are going to win every game as they edge ever closer to Euro 2016.
"We've got a good winning mentality and you saw that once we went 1-0 down," he told ITV. "We knew it was going to be a tough night and even tougher after they scored but the character we showed was great. That winning mentality is with us and we believe we're going to win every game.
"It was a good day in the end. It was tough because they took the lead and we had to show our character and that'll be good for us as a team. We haven't faced that, so going behind, it was a great reaction from the players and we're delighted with that. We could've done better before they went 1-0 up and I think after that it really woke us up and we went on to show what a good team we are."
Rooney became England's latest centurion at Wembley and was accompanied onto the Wembley pitch by his sons Klay and Kai, with the 29-year-old admitting that he was honoured by the reception he received.
"It's a special night for me," he added. "It's a great honour to represent England 100 times now and hopefully many more to come. To walk out with my two boys is something no one can ever take away from me."
Danny Welbeck netted twice on the night to take his recent tally to five goals from four games, and Rooney insists the Arsenal man is a "fantastic football player."
"He [Welbeck] doesn't have to prove anything to anyone," Rooney added. "He's shown he's a top forward and, the more games he plays, he's getting better. He's scoring goals for Arsenal and England and he deserves all the credit he gets."
