Rohr, Bewarang & Amuneke to attend Fifa Football Conference in London

Nigeria legend Emmanuel Amuneke, Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr and Nigeria Football Federation technical director Bitrus Bewarang will attend Fifa Football Conference in London.

The trio were invited by Fifa alongside head coaches, technical directors, experts of 211 member associations to do a postmortem on the recently concluded 2018 World Cup on September 23.

Those invited officials and legends will analyse Russia 2018 from a technical and tactical point of view, identify trends and compare the main findings with its previous editions based on the report by Fifa’s Technical Study Group (TSG) to be presented at the event the conference.

Also at the London conference, discussions about the implementation of VAR and its impact on the game in the view of promoting an enhanced dialogue with member associations and confederations at all levels among Fifa members is being organised for the first time.

“The 2018 FIFA World Cup was a huge success on and off the pitch,” Fifa deputy secretary general (Football) Zvonimir Boban wrote in a letter to the FAs.

“Through this conference, we aim to present and discuss the main findings identified on the pitch by our experts while listening to the feedback from our member associations.

“The World Cup should be seen as a learning platform that could have a positive impact on football’s technical development around the world.

“By having a single conference, we can engage with all our member associations at once and trigger a rich and diverse football dialogue.”

The FIFA Football Conference will be happening on the eve of this year’s The Best Fifa Football Awards in London.
