Al-Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry believes that Real Madrid’s sensational performance is attributed to the players in the team and not just Zinedine Zidane.

Since taking over the Los Blancos in 2016, Zidane has won one La Liga title, two Champions League titles, two UEFA Super Cups, one Club World Cup and a Spanish Super Cup.

But El-Badry suggests that new players helped him to win these trophies. “Zidane is a good manager, but adding new faces helped in in the improvement of the team,” the Egyptian manager told a local radio station.

“Football is not about managers only,” El-Badry added.

El-Badry led Al-Ahly to the Egyptian League and Egypt Cup wins last season.

Al Ahly is set to meet Espérance Sportive de Tunis in mid-September in the quarter final of the CAF Champions League.

The Egyptian Giants will face Tala'ea El-Gaish in the first game-week of the Egyptian League.
