Memphis unmoved by Manchester United criticism

Memphis Depay says he is paying no attention to criticism after his underwhelming start to life at Manchester United.

The winger snubbed the press as he reported for national team duty ahead of Netherlands' crucial Euro 2016 qualifying matches, stating "I don't talk to written media".

He did speak to Dutch TV show Voetbal Inside though and insisted he is not interested in the criticism he has received after scoring just one goal in eight league games in England.

"I just let the criticism slide off me. I'm not really paying attention to it," he said.

"Only constructive criticism can do something for you. I just let the rest go. Everyone will have an opinion, but that is part of life."

Netherlands must win both of their games against Kazakhstan and Czech Republic and hope Turkey drop points in their matches if the Dutch are to qualify for the Euro 2016 playoffs and Memphis is confident of doing it.

"Everyone has confidence that Turkey will drop points and we can win the two games," he added.
