Lorenzo Gordinho in advanced talks with Kaizer Chiefs

Goal can exclusively reveal that negotiations between Kaizer Chiefs and Lorenzo Gordinho are at an advanced stage.

The centre-back has entered the final six months of his current deal with Amakhosi, but according to his agent Mike Makaab of ProSport International, Gordinho could soon sign on the dotted line to prolong his stay at Naturena.

“They [talks] are at an advanced stage,” Makaab told Goal.

The 22-year-old is currently in Denmark where he’s trying his luck at Aalborg BK, and Maakab reveals that the player is very excited to get the opportunity to showcase his talent in the European country.

The former Orlando Pirates coach also confirmed that Aalborg are yet to make a decision on whether or not Gordinho will be offered a contract.

The defender featured for Aalborg in the 2-0 loss to Hoffenheim in a friendly this past weekend, and although he was unable to help the Danish side win the match, his overall performance was impressive.

“He is excited and has been well received by the players at Aalborg,” he continued.

“He has performed well, but no decision has been made as yet,” Makaab concluded.

Gordinho is expected to return to South Africa later this week, with his trial period at the Danish outfit ending on Wednesday (January 17).

Chiefs will look to utilize the experience he gained overseas for the second half of the season provided Aalborg decide against signing him in the current transfer window.
