Giovanni van Bronckhorst's agent has revealed that the former Feyenoord boss is interested in succeeding Rafael Benitez at Newcastle.

The former Dutch defender is the first to publicly be linked with the job, although the likes of Gary Monk, Sean Dyche and David Moyes have been linked as well.

Earthquakes sign Mexican winger Fierro


The San Jose Earthquakes have added Carlos Fierro using Targeted Allocation Money, the club announced on Tuesday.

Fierro previously worked with Quakes manager Matias Almeyda at Chivas de Guadalajara and claimed three Copa MX titles and one Liga MX championship during his time in Mexico.

“I know Carlos from my time at Chivas,” said Almeyda. “I know him as a person and as a professional. I know he can help us a lot with his style of play. He’s a player that I can use in various positions. I thank the club and the effort they made to be able to buy him. Hopefully he does a great job, which is what everyone hopes for."

Man Utd chase Lyon wonderkid


Manchester United are after Lyon attacker Mathis Rayan Cherki as they battle Real Madrid for the wonderkid's signature, according to the Telegraph.


The 15-year-old will be eligible for a move in August with the likes of Juventus, Barcelona and Bayern Munich also said to be interested.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas is working to get the forward to sign a professional contract with the club in an effort to lock him up going forward.


Lukaku agent confirms Inter interest


Romelu Lukaku's agent has confirmed that Inter are interested in the Belgian forward.

The striker is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer, with Inter seen as the favourite to sign him.

Impact star Piatti in negotiations for Independiente return


Montreal Impact star Ignacio Piatti is close to securing a return to Independiente, according to Marca.

Piatti's contract with the Impact expires at the end of the MLS season, and the winger has already stated that he will leave the club at the end of his deal.

The winger, who is dealing with a right knee injury, would have to take a slight pay cut to move back to the Argentine club.


Spurs close in on Ndombele move

Tottenham are edging closer to sealing a move for Tanguy Ndombele, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The midfielder is set to head to London for a medical with only a few final details left to handle before finalizing a deal.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas revealed on Tuesday that the club was open to a sale if a large bid came in.

Rafinha Valencia move in doubt


Barcelona midfielder Rafinha is keen on a move to Valencia but the Spanish side are reluctant to meet his asking price, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Brazil midfielder is likely to leave the Camp Nou this summer with Valencia rivalling Celta and Eintracht Frankfurt for his services.

Rafinha would prefer a move to the Mestalla but with the club yet to meet his €15 million (£13.4m/$17m) asking price, Barca are considering other offers.

Odegaard poised for another loan move


Real Madrid are keen to loan out Martin Odegaard again this season with Real Sociedad and Bayer Leverkusen set to compete for his signature, according to the Mail.

The 20-year-old has already held talks with both clubs and is believed to favour staying in La Liga with Sociedad.

However, Real would prefer Odegaard move to Leverkusen as the German side can offer Champions League football next season.

Newcastle to take their time over manager appointment


Newcastle will not be rushed in their search for a new manager following the departure of Rafael Benitez, reports the Telegraph.

It was confirmed yesterday that Benitez would leave the club upon the expiry of his contract this weekend, ending his three-and-a-half year stay in the north east.

Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger have distanced themselves from the vacancy, with the Magpies reportedly keen on appointing a young up-and-coming manager rather than one with Premier League experience.

El Shaarawy close to China move


Roma forward Stephan El Shaarawy is keen on a move to Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua, reports Calciomercato.

El Shaarawy is about to enter the final year of his contract so Roma are ready to sell the Egypt forward this summer rather than risk him leaving for free next year.

The Italian side are believed to demanding around €20 million (£18m/$23m) for the 26-year-old, while Shanghai are ready to offer €16m (£14.3m/£18.2m) plus bonuses.

United still in talks over Wan-Bissaka deal


Manchester United remain in talks with Crystal Palace over of the signing of England Under-21 defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to ESPN.

United have made Wan-Bissaka a top transfer target but have yet to agree a fee with Palace, who are holding out for excess of £50 million ($63m).

Paris Saint-Germain's Thomas Meunier is seen as an alternative should the Red Devils fail to reach a deal with the Eagles.

Lukaku tells United he wants to leave


Romelu Lukaku has told Manchester United he wants to leave the club, with his agent Federico Pastorello having been spotted arriving at Inter Milan's offices in Italy, report the Manchester Evening News.

The Belgian striker told the Red Devils that he is ready to move on as he does not feel 'important' under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

United are open to selling Lukaku but would want to recoup close to the £75 million ($95m) they paid Everton for the striker in the summer of 2017.

Milan keen on Fekir


AC Milan are interested in signing Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir, according to France Football.

Fekir is about to enter the final 12 months of his contract with the French club, who may be forced to sell the 25-year-old this summer rather than risk losing him for free next year.

The France international, who was heavily linked with Liverpool last summer, is valued at around €40 million (£34m/$32m).

Tottenham to rival Arsenal for Saliba


Tottenham are ready to make a move for Arsenal target William Saliba, report the Mirror.

The Gunners are keen to land the 18-year-old Saint Etienne centre-back but have seen an opening offer of £27 million ($34.2m) rejected.

That could open the door for Tottenham, who hope to tempt Saliba with the prospect of Champions League football - something Arsenal cannot offer.

Ex-Man Utd midfielder Powell among five new signings at Stoke


Stoke City have confirmed the signing of former Manchester United midfielder Nick Powell ahead of the 2019-20 season.

Powell is joined by Adam Davies, Lee Gregory, Jordan Cousins and Liam Lindsay as Stoke announced five summer signings on Tuesday.

Davies, Powell, Gregory and Cousins all join on free transfers while the club had to pay a transfer fee to Barnsley to sign Lindsay. 

Moreno set to join Villarreal


Alberto Moreno will join Villarreal on a free transfer, according to the Daily Mail.

The fullback departed Liverpool following the club's Champions League win with his contract expiring this summer.

An announcement is expected on July 1 as the club will confirm the former Sevilla defender as its latest signing.

'Newcastle a laughing stock under Mike Ashley'


Micky Quinn says that Newcastle have become a "laughing stock" under Mike Ashley following Rafael Benitez's departure.

Quinn labeled the club's decision to let Benitez walk as "diabolical" as the ex-Magpies striker took aim at club leadership.

Atlanta United linked with Venezuela's Soteldo


Atlanta United have been linked with Yeferson Soteldo after Santos president Jose Carlos Perez said the club received an offer for the Venezuela winger, according to Gazeta Esportiva.

Any big-money move for Soltedo would be unikely on Atlanta's end, with the club already having the maximum of three Designated Players on the roster.

However, Perez says the club received a $17 million( £13.36 million) bid for the winger, who is currently at the Copa America.

Roma announce new sporting director


Roma have hired a new sporting director in Gianluca Petrachi, the club announced on Tuesday.

Petrachi, who featured for  Torino, Cremonese, Perugia and Nottingham Forest as a player, is best known for his work as sporting director of Torino.

“Coming to Roma is an exciting and stimulating opportunity for me,” Petrachi said. “I am well aware of the expectations of a club and a fanbase of this size – and because of that I was eager to accept this great challenge.”

Lyon open to selling Ndombele for 'big offer'


Tanguy Ndombele will be allowed to leave Lyon if a “big offer” comes in, says club president Jean-Michel Aulas.

The midfielder has been linked with Tottenham in recent weeks, and Aulas offered Spurs a little bit of hope by admitting the French side could sell.

Arsenal are hoping to tie up a deal for Celtic defender Kieran Tierney at £18 million ($23m), reports The Guardian.

Real Madrid have set their sights on Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz, according to AS.

The 23-year-old made 40 appearances for the Italian side in all competitions in 2018-19 after joining from Real Betis and is impressing at the Under 21 European Championship.

Alexis Sanchez needs regular match action either at Manchester United or elsewhere, says Chile great Ivan Zamorano.

Sanchez left Arsenal for United in January 2018 but has struggled to find his best form at Old Trafford, starting just nine Premier League games last season and scoring once.

Paris Saint-Germain look likely to sign Sevilla attacker Pablo Sarabia, despite the La Liga club's best efforts, according to AS

Mochi attempted to talk Sarabia out of a move, but PSG are set to spend €20 million, directly to Sevilla, and will pay the transfer fee, rather than activate the release clause.

Sarabia had multiple offers from La Liga clubs, including Atletico Madrid but none of the clubs could match PSG's wage offer. 

Liverpool look to complete signing of Netherlands U-19 defender


Liverpool are hoping to complete the signing of teenage defender Sepp van den Berg from PEC Zwolle, but will face competition from a host of top European clubs for the Netherlands youth international.

The Reds are keen to bring the 17-year-old centre-back to Anfield this summer, but Bayern MunichAjax and PSV Eindhoven are all keen on the Dutch under-19 star, while Sampdoria are understood to have bid €2.5m (£2.25m) for him in January.

Van den Berg's signing, although not yet confirmed, would be seen as a real coup for the Reds’ recruitment team, given the level of competition.

Arsenal chasing Dortmund defender Zagadou


Arsenal are targeting Borussia Dortmund defender Dan-Axel Zagadou as Unai Emery continues to pursue young centre-back options, reports the Mirror.

The Gunners have been linked with Saint-Etienne teenage defender William Saliba and are also trying to secure the 20-year-old Zagadou, who has three years left on his contract.

Zagadou impressed at the U-20 World Cup but could be available after Dortmund brought back veteran Mats Hummels this summer.

Tottenham right-back Kieran Trippier is subject of a £25 million ($32m) transfer battle between Serie A giants Juventus and Napoli, reports the Mirror.

Former Chelsea manager and new Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri envisions Trippier as the replacement for Joao Cancelo, who is nearing a deal to join Manchester City.

Napoli, however, have already begun talks to sign Trippier and Spurs are willing to sell, with Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters options to replace Trippier in the XI.
