Kenyan forward Michael Olunga unveiled by Kashiwa Reysol in Japan

Kenyan forward Michael Olunga has officially been unveiled by Japanese club Kashiwa Reysol.

The former Gor Mahia striker signed for the J-League side on transfer deadline day to ditch Chinese top outfit Guizou Zhicheng. Reysol are believed to have paid about Sh300 million to Zhicheng in exchange for Olunga’s services.

Olunga has now been unveiled by Reysol, will wear the number 26 jersey and could make his debut when they play away to Jubilo Iwata on Sunday.

Several clubs in Europe were reportedly in the race to sign the towering striker but he opted for the Japanese league. Olunga was on loan with Girona FC in La Liga last season.

Reysol finished fourth in the 18-team J-League last season, and the team’s technical bench led by coach Takahiro Shimotaira will be hoping that Olunga’s addition will fire them to the league title this season.
