Gavin Jeanne positive about Seychelles' chances against Nigeria

Seychelles head coach Gavin Jeanne believes his side can subdue Nigeria when they meet in Saturday's 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Victoria.

The Pirates suffered a huge setback in their bid to earn a debut qualification for Cameroon 2019 after they were thrashed 5-1 by Libya at the Petro Sports Stadium, Cairo, Egypt June last year.

After a poor start to their qualification campaign, the Southern Africans are bottom of Group E log with no point - behind third-placed Super Eagles following the first round of matches.

And the gaffer is assuring that his side will be fully prepared for their showdown with Gernot Rohr's men as the biggest in their football history.

“Yes, we are very ready and positive about our chances against Nigeria,” Jeanne told media.

“We have prepared well and I hope the players maintain their focus and stick to the plan. We have enjoyed a good build-up to the game. It’s our biggest football match in history.

“We have tested ourselves enough from our participation it the Cosafa Cup till now. I hope it goes well and we make a positive impact.”
