The game started with a bang as Lorenzo Insigne caught Keylor Navas out with his long-range opener. But Madrid hit back with a vengeance when Dani Carvajal's impressive cross found Karim Benzema at the back post to head in, and then Cristiano Ronaldo's neat ball across the byline was well finished by Toni Kroos.
But it was their third goal that was the most remarkable, as Brazilian midfielder Casemiro met a block with a phenomenal volley to send it sailing into the net, as Pepe Reina remained rooted to the spot.

It is only the 24-year-old's second goal in all competitions, having previously found the net with Madrid's final goal in a 5-0 win over Granada in La Liga. Casemiro has been limited to just 21 appearances in all competitions this term, having missed three months through injury, but has regained his place in the starting XI since his return.
