Ambrose Rachier set 'unrealistic' target for Gor Mahia ahead of the new season

Kenyan champions Gor Mahia have set close to impossible target ahead of the upcoming season.

K’Ogalo are once again expected to have a busy season with at least six titles up for grab. Gor Mahia will be looking for their maiden Caf Champions League title when they kick off the continental campaign on Wednesday against Nyasa Big Bullets of Malawi.

Beside that, the record Kenyan champions will be up to defend the domestic league, the SportPesa Super Cup as well as reclaiming the Shield Cup title.

Gor Mahia, who might lift their maiden title when they take on Kariobangi Sharks in the Super Cup final on December 6, will also be taking part in the regional Cecafa Club competition-if the games will be there in the first place.

But despite the tedious task ahead, club chairman Ambrose Rachier says that K’Ogalo will be going for all silverware up for grab.

“Last season we set a higher standard by claiming the league title, winning the Super Cup. The dream has not changed. In fact, this season, we have even a bigger target of winning every competition we’ll be taking part in,” Rachier noted.

K’Ogalo will host Nyasa Big Bullet on Wednesday before traveling to Malawi for the return leg on December 5. After the away fixture, they will take on Kariobangi Sharks in the Super Cup final before kicking off the KPL season away in Mombasa, against Bandari on December 8.
