Akwa United not moved by Enyimba result, says Aremu

Akwa United midfielder, Afeez Aremu admits that his side’s game against Enyimba will be tough, but says they will come out victorious at the end of the game.

Goals from Ubong Friday and Musa Newman ensured the Promise Keepers force Remo Stars to a 2-2 draw to pick their fourth away draw this season.

And the midfielder claims the draw will inspire them to go all the way against Gbenga Ogunbote’s men in their next game at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Sunday.

"They are very hot at the moment, they beat El-Kanemi 4-0 in their last game and it will boost their morale," Aremu told Goal.

"But regardless of their last result, we are not moved one bit because our target in that game is to pick maximum points even if we will beat them by just one goal to nothing. So it is operation three points or nothing against them this Sunday.

"We also did not do badly in our last game – picking one point on the road in Sagamu and I’m sure we will go into the game with that confidence and at the end of the day, we will come out victorious.''

He also thumbs up the club’s fans for their immeasurable support so far this season, adding that the duo of Alhassan Ibrahim and former MFM FC player, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi makes playing football easy.

"There’s nothing special about our performance, but I must give kudos to our fans. I have never seen supporters like them since I started playing football, so they have been our very good support base.

"Also, the set of people I play with (Ifeanyi Ifeanyi and Alhassan) have been superb, they make playing football very easy."
