Abdullahi Shehu rewards Sokoto United despite Federation Cup loss to Kano Pillars

Nigeria international Abdullahi Shehu has handed a token cash gift of two hundred thousand naira to Sokoto United despite crashing out of the 2018 Federation Cup on Sunday.

The Nigeria National League side had eliminated Nigeria Professional Football League side MFM on penalties in the Round of 64 and were hoping for a repeat against Kano Pillars.

However, the Sokoto based side bowed out of the competition as Rabiu Ali’s double sent the giant killers packing in Kaduna.

In a tweet on Monday, the Super Eagles defender revealed the cash reward after his boyhood club missed out of his 100,000 naira per goal cash gift after defeat to the Sai Masu Gida Boys.
