Wrexham going global! Ryan Reynolds & Rob McElhenney send executive director to Southern Africa as part of heartwarming grassroots project in Lesotho

The Red Dragons announced their collaboration with the Southern African country last week in a project which aims to "foster international cooperation and exchange". Founded in 2005, Kick4Life remains the world's only football club dedicated exclusively to social change through a range of activities focused on health, education, gender equality and employability. Per their website, the partnership with Wrexham will aim to "reach 3,000 vulnerable children and young people across both communities."

A week-and-a-half on from said announcement, the Red Dragons provided an update on the situation. Executive Director Humphrey Ker went out to Lesotho to meet with Kick4Life representatives - and even take part in football match.

This latest partnership highlights Wrexham's identity under Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. The Hollywood co-owners have made benefiting the community a big part of their mission since arriving in February 2021, helping in-need stores and former players alike. That the scope has extended beyond north Wales should be no surprise given the global reach of the Red Dragons. In fact, a new broadcasting deal was reportedly pushed through thanks largely to Wrexham's global pull.

With the new season of Welcome to Wrexham forthcoming, there seems to be no stopping the Welsh club with their seemingly exponential growth off the pitch. They now just need to match those successes with results on it, as Phil Parkinson's side have hit a minor blip of late. They can rectify a dismal defeat to Tranmere last time out when they face Grimsby on Saturday.
