Two-time AFF Championship winners Vietnam will enter the competition aiming to make amends for a somewhat underwhelming performance at the 2020 edition and to lift the trophy for a third time.
They were undone by rivals Thailand in the semi-finals last time around, with Chanathip Songkrasin proving the difference as he netted twice in the first leg, with Vietnam unable to bounce back in the return.
The Golden Star Warriors will be determined to do better now, but they will have to deal with Laos, Malaysia, Singapore and Myanmar in the group stages first.
Vietnam kick off their AFF Mitsubishi Cup 2022 against Laos on December 21.
Who will make Park Hang-seo's starting XI, though?
Let's take a look at the available options!
Dang Van Lam will likely be battling it out with Tran Nguyen Manh for the No.1 jersey, with both getting a chance between the sticks during the recent international break in September.
Nguyen Van Toan is the other option in goal.

Vietnam have a nice mix of youth and experience in defence.
Arguably their most experienced defender is Que Ngoc Hai, who has made over 50 appearances for the national team, featuring at multiple AFF Championships, as well as an Asian Cup.
Do Duy Manh, Bui Tien Dung, Vu Van Thanh and Doan Van Hau are among the other experienced campaigners in Vietnam's defence.

Tran is expected to start between the sticks at the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022, having performed well in recent international games, including a thumping 3-0 win over India in September.
Then, Vietnam could opt for a three-man defence with Nguyen Than Binh, Do Duy Manh and Que Ngoc Hai.
They usually prefer the lone man in a sweeping midfield position to support the defence and Hung Dung Do is going to be that player for Vietnam at the AFF Cup.
The four midfielders ahead of him could be Doan Van Hau, Phan Van Duc, Nguyen Quang Hai and Nguyen Tuan Anh, with Nguyen Van Toan and Nguyen Tien Linh forming a two-man attack.
Vietnam XI (3-1-4-2): Nguyen Manh Tran; Que Ngoc Hai, Do Duy Manh, Nguyen Thanh Binh; Hung Dung Do; Doan Van Hau, Phan Van Duc, Nguyen Quang Hai, Nguyen Tuan Anh; Nguyen Van Toan, Nguyen Tien Linh
As with every major tournament, there are always high-profile names who miss out for whatever reason and the AFF Championship is no exception.
Luong Xuan Truong is one such name, with Nguyen Cong Phuong another big name who's set to miss out.
