After an inconsistent first season at Leeds during the 2022-23 Premier League season, it seemed certain that the attacking midfielder would leave the club. Yet, after a loan spell at Union Berlin in the 2023-24 campaign, Aaronson has seemingly played his way into the team this season.
The midfielder scored a crucial equalizing goal on the opening day of the season, and continued to make an impact for his side as they look to make a push back towards the Premier League. Previously skeptical fans have acknowledged his showings, voting him Player of the Month for August.
Aaronson has never really managed to settle at Leeds after being signed in 2022. The USMNT regular was sent out on loan to Union Berlin after The Whites were relegated in 2023. And he failed to make much of an impact there, providing just four goal contributions in 30 appearances as the Champions League side slipped to 15th in the Bundesliga.
And after being linked with an exit at numerous points this summer, it seems a recent run of form has earned him a starting spot.
GettyIn an interview with Sky Sports, Aaronson pledged to continue his strong form: "I knew I needed to come in and show my worth and show how good I can be. And that's what I had to do. I had to be confident."
