Trouble for Arsenal? Mikel Arteta reveals Declan Rice & Bukayo Saka injuries could take shine off thumping Champions League victory over Real Madrid

Saka went off injured with 15 minutes left of his team's 3-0 win in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final tie on Tuesday, with double free-kick scorer Rice withdrawn five minutes later.

Arteta confirmed that the pair were struggling as they came off, but the Gunners boss did not seem concerned about the severity of the injuries.

He told reporters: "I think Dec had an issue with the foot, I’m not sure if it was a tackle or what it was and after Bukayo got tackled for the foul, he had a knock and he had to go off. It doesn’t look serious, no."

As Arsenal trail Liverpool by 11 points in the Premier League, Arteta may rest the winger and midfielder for the match against Brentford on Saturday in order to keep them fresh for next week's return fixture in Madrid.
