'I don't give a sh*t - Thomas Muller hits out at Thomas Tuchel question after Harry Kane double secures Bayern win

On Friday, Hoeness accused Tuchel of not wanting to work with his younger players and the former Chelsea man took the insult to heart, eventually batting away the criticism in front of the media. The honorary president went on to claim that the German head coach does not think he can improve the likes of Alphonso Davies or Jamal Musiala. Muller, one of the senior figures at the club, refused to be drawn into the argument and stated his job is to perform on the pitch.

Speaking to Sky, the veteran attacker said: "If you ask great questions, then of course we take notice. Patrick, you are one of the best sports journalists. There will be no background noises with us. I quoted Oli Kahn before: 'I don't give a sh*t.' - I know that just as I try to be there for the goal scoring chances, you are of course always looking for the finish."

The tension between the senior figures at the club and Tuchel has stemmed from Bayern's poor campaign that led to them failing to win the Bundesliga for the first time since 2012. The Bavarians still have a shot at winning the Champions League but there is evidence that things are starting to sour as Tuchel prepares to depart. Having spent a hefty sum on Harry Kane in the summer, there is an understanable disappointment across the board that Bayern have been unable to dominate.

The former Champions League winner has been linked with a move back to the Premier League with ex-club Chelsea reportedly interested alongside Manchester United. Tuchel has proved in the past that he can implement a winning formula and he will likely have no shortage of options when he departs the Allianz Arena in a few weeks time.
