    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Varane is free to speak with clubs outside of England, with pre-contract talks now a possibility, and the Manchester Evening News reports that the former France international is undecided on whether he would accept a reduced offer in order to remain in Manchester.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Varane is not actively looking for a move in the January transfer window, but does feel as though he is being forced out, and is disappointed at how things are playing out for United as a collective in 2023-24 – with there issues to be addressed on and off the field. Varane has missed seven games for the Red Devils this season, and 38 out of 138 in total since joining from Real Madrid in 2021.

    WHAT NEXT FOR VARANE?

United maintain that nobody is being forced out of their plans, but Victor Lindelof has seen an extension option in his deal taken up. The uncertainty regarding Varane’s future appears set to rumble on, amid links to Bayern Munich and Lens, with no definitive decision being made on what happens next.
