    The Lionesses booked their place in Euro 2025 after managing a nervy goalless draw against Sweden on Tuesday in their final qualifying match. The reigning champions secured their place in the main tournament after finishing second in the group behind France.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

    After the game, England stars Bright and Mead paid a wonderful tribute to their former team-mate Rachel Daly who brought the curtain down on her international career in April this year. Bright took to Instagram to share a photograph where she can be seen posing with a blow-up doll of Daly alongside Mead in a gesture to show that the retired star remains part of the Lionesses squad.

    32-year-old Daly played her final game for England against Ireland in April where she came on as a late substitute. Shortly after the Euro 2025 qualifying fixture, the Aston Villa striker announced her retirement.
