Marc-Andre ter Stegen makes his demands! Angry goalkeeper tells Barcelona what they must do to persuade him to leave despite still wanting Camp Nou stay

The German goalkeeper's place at Barcelona has come into question following the arrival of Joan Garcia, with reports saying the club are eager to sell Ter Stegen this summer. He is said to be furious about losing his status as first choice and is fighting to stay despite their desire sell him. After claims that he had been in contact with French giants Monaco, a new report from Spain now appears to reveal the conditions under which the former Borussia Monchengladbach player would leave Catalunya.

According to Sport, Ter Stegen remains hesitant to leave the club at this point in time. He is said to be very upset about how things have developed with regard to his situation in Barcelona and is reported to have rejected the offer from Monaco. Nevertheless, the report states that he would consider a move if he were to receive his full salary for the final three years of his contract, which runs until 2028.

Ter Stegen is said to feel betrayed because he was never informed of the plans that Barca had apparently held for some time regarding the goalkeeper position.

Just days ago, the Catalans confirmed the signing of preferred candidate Garcia from city rivals Espanyol. The 24-year-old is set to become the new first-choice goalkeeper. As a consequence, Barcelona would like to offload the 33-year-old German, who is one of the club's top earners.

Sporting director Deco told La Vanguardia recently that Ter Stegen's time at the Blaugrana was coming to an end.

"I don't need to talk to him. My duty is to build the best possible team for the manager," said Deco.

While Barca attempt to force him out, Ter Stegen may be prepared to take a sporting risk. Because he still has a valid contract, but also because he believes he will outshine Garcia sooner rather than later.

Ter Stegen is now expected to return to Barcelona for pre-season training, which begins in 15 days. A meeting with coach Hansi Flick is scheduled for mid-July. The club is said to be confident that Ter Stegen will "come to his senses" afterwards. Whether they decide to pay out the remainder of his contract may be a key factor in this.
