Mandela’s move to Mamelodi Sundowns is the biggest transfer&nbsp;a Kenyan has made this transfer season.
Signing a three-year deal with a two-year option to extend the contract, Masandawana became&nbsp;his third club in South Africa. He first joined Santos FC in 2012 and played in 48 matches for three seasons before he joined Maritzburg United in 2015.

The Harambee Stars assistant captain launched his career at Posta Rangers 10 years ago, moved to then-KPL champions Tusker before he started his sojourn down in the south.

Brian Mandela

The retired Kenyan goalkeeper joined Free State Stars in the 1994/95 season and stayed until the 1997/98 season.
The custodian had to retire due to a shoulder injury after serving Ea Lla Koto for three years and is now in the US, where together with friends co-founded the Alabama Saints FC.

Busolo is perhaps remembered for his time at AFC Leopards where he served the club with iconic players like Mosses Mulamba, Wilberforce Mulamba, JJ Masiga, Tony Lidonde, Francis Kadenge, Mike Amwai, Patrick Shilashi, Omar Bongo, Josephat Murula ‘Controler’, and Dan Musuku.

The defender joined AFC Ann Arbor in 2018, played for eight games before making another move to Real Monarchs for the 2018/19 season. The IF Elfsborg player saw his star shine brightest in the 2019 Afcon tournament when Kenya’s squad was hit by the Mandela injury and he had to be fielded.

Perhaps the most successful Kenyan to have played in the South African league up to date.
After a successful time at both AFC Leopards and Tusker where he won the Premier League titles with both sides, Otieno joined South Africa’s Santos – featured in 311 games and scored 34 goals - where he stayed from 1997 to 2011.

While at Santos, the Harambee Stars’ longest-serving captain won the PSL title in the 2001/02 season, the Super Bowl (now Nedbank Cup) in 2001 and the Absa Cup three years later.

Musa Otieno

The midfielder joined South African heavyweights Kaizer Chiefs after he had served Zambian Super League side Zesco United from 2016 to 2020.
He won three Super League titles with Timu ya Ziko in three consecutive seasons from 2107 to 2019 and that helped him grow his credentials as a winner. He had won the KPL title with Gor Mahia in 2013 and 2014 before a move to Al Khartoum in 2015 happened.

Akumu joined Chiefs – where he has played nine games and scored a maiden goal that came against Polokwane City – in a season that ended dramatically on winning the league title on the final day of the season.
