THE BIGGER PICTURE
The report adds that this new agreement will see Vivell, 38, carry on with a reduced salary - at a time when United are planning on making hundreds of staff redundant as part of a cost-cutting initiative.
Aside from Vivell's confirmation, United are focusing on securing three points at home to relegation-threatened Ipswich Town on Wednesday in the Premier League.
