‘A catastrophe’ - Harry Kane absolutely slammed by German media after ‘disaster’ performance for Bayern Munich in heavy Bayer Leverkusen defeat

The England star was not spared by the German media who called his performance a "disaster" as Bayern Munich went down 3-0 against Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday. Kane was slammed for being unable to perform in a big game in what was termed his worst performance to date for the club.

BILD described the performance against Leverkusen as "The Kane disaster" as they wrote, "He was actually brought in for games like this. Harry Kane and his worst game in a Bayern jersey. Kane wasn't in the game at all. No goal, no assist – BILD grade 6! Only his effort was right: he ran 10.8 km, only Mazraoui ran more for Bayern. He should win the top scorer cannon. But he came to Bayern to win championships."

It was a rare off day for The Three Lions skipper who has otherwise enjoyed a rich vein of form in the ongoing season having already scored 28 goals in as many games across all competitions and has provided eight assists. He recently equalled Luca Toni's record of scoring the most Bundesliga goals in his maiden season for The Bavarians and is on his way to breaking Robert Lewandowski's record of netting 41 league goals in a season in Germany.

Thomas Tuchel's side will next take on Lazio in the round of 16 of the Champions League away from home on Wednesday.
