Kane was presented with a golden cap before kick-off at Wembley to honour the captain's 100th appearance for the national team. The Bayern star walked onto the pitch with his family, including wife Kate and daughters Ivy and Vivienne, and was presented with the cap by fellow centurion Frank Lampard.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

The presentation was something of a last-minute affair as it had originally been scheduled for October's meeting with Finland, according to BBC Sport. Kane was unsure if he would start on Tuesday night but after the decision was made, a plan was quickly put into place. The striker's family were still in Munich on Monday but travelled to Wembley, with Kane admitting “a lot of this has been last minute." The late changes also proved too much for Kane's three-year old son Louie who ended up in tears in the tunnel.

  • WHAT KANE SAID

Kane told BBC Sport the occasion had simply been too much for little Louie: "My son was having a bit of a meltdown it was past his bedtime, thankfully my wife was there to look after him."

Kane went on to score twice in a 2-0 win for Lee Carsley's side. He now has 68 goals and 17 assists in 100 outings for his country.
