Erling Haaland's cup final hell goes on! Man City striker continues his horrific record in tournament deciders as Crystal Palace nullify Norwegian at Wembley

City fell to a shock 1-0 defeat against Palace at Wembley on Saturday as Pep Guardiola's men lost in the FA Cup final for the second year in a row - after finishing runners-up to Manchester United in 2024. Striker Haaland has now failed to score in his last nine cup finals, including all eight he has featured in for City. The Norwegian international has also not been on the scoresheet in his six appearances for the club at this iconic stadium.

Eberechi Eze's first-half goal secured Palace their first major trophy in the club's long history. They will now play in the Europa League next season, whereas City end the campaign trophyless for the first time since 2017.

This is only the second season in Guardiola's entire managerial career in which he has failed to win any major silverware. And, City are not guaranteed to qualify for the 2025-26 Champions League, either.

Haaland will hope to find his goalscoring touch when City return to Premier League action on Tuesday at home to Bournemouth as the race for Champions League football heats up.
