The Olympic champions are now preparing to take on reigning European champions England in an international friendly and ahead of the highly anticipated clash, the 48-year-old is caught in two minds over singing the national anthem of the country she works in and of her birthplace. Hayes, however, has found a solution to avoid any controversy.
WHAT EMMA HAYES SAID
Speaking to reporters, the record WSL-winning manager described the situation as a "weird moment", as she said: "It’s something I will hum along to as I always have done, being the English person that I am. I’ll also do the same for the American national anthem because I love both anthems."
