Dimitri Payet charged with 'psychological violence' against former mistress after allegedly forcing Brazilian lawyer to degrade herself

Having moved to Brazil in 2023 to play for Rio outfit Vasco da Gama, leaving his wife and four kids in his native France, Payet allegedly engaged in a seven-month affair with Brazilian lawyer Larissa Natalya Ferrari. However, after the breakdown of the relationship, Ferrari brought a case against her ex, accusing Payet of forcing her to drink her own urine, lick the floor, and perform various other 'sexual bizarre acts'.

Heard at the Women's Assistance Police Station, Payet admitted to having a relationship with Ferrari but insisted every act was consensual. Just days before the court case, news broke that the Frenchman's contract at Vasco da Gama had been terminated, presumably due to the details emerging of his horrific alleged acts.

According to the Daily Mail, Ferrari said: "Dimitri knew about my passion and psychological problems, using this against me. Dimitri convinced me to put my head in the trash, in the toilet, made me drink my own urine and other sexual bizarre acts."

She added: "I want justice because he abused my psychological vulnerability to gain sexual advantage. He demanded proof of love from me, which consisted of humiliation. I recorded videos in which I drank my urine, drank water from the toilet bowl, and licked the floor. I'm a lawyer, I would never have made such serious complaints lightly."

The trial is due to take place later this year, with Ferrari's legal team stating that the news of the charge "demonstrates that the authorities are attentive to the seriousness of the facts and willing to ensure that conduct harmful to the dignity of women does not go unpunished, regardless of the public projection of the accused.”
