  • WHAT JOAN LAPORTA SAID

As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Laporta said, "Their agent, Atlético and Man City already told us what’s gonna be needed to sign them. We want both Joaos to be a permanent part of the team, not on loan. Let’s see how it evolves. I feel all parties will be happy at the end."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The Catalan giants are planning to sign Cancelo permanently next summer as Manchester City do not want to sanction another loan deal.

For Felix, they might negotiate another temporary move with Atletico with an option to buy in the future as their current financial condition won't permit them to meet the Colchoneros' high asking price for the striker.

    WHAT NEXT FOR BARCELONA?

Xavi's have failed to register a win in their last two La Liga matches as they find themselves fourth on the league table, nine points behind league leaders Girona and seven behind arch-rivals Real Madrid.

They will aim to get back to winning ways on Wednesday as they take on Almeria at home.
