Bacon and baked beans! Harry Kane’s guilty pleasures revealed by hotel manager as Bayern Munich forward hailed as one of their ‘most beloved long-stay guests’

The England captain was put up in Munich's Mandarin Oriental hotel after he completed a move from Tottenham in the summer, reportedly staying in a luxury £3,500-a-night suite. With Kane now moving on to find a place of his own, Mandarin general manager Dominik Rainer described to The Sun what it was like to host the current Bundesliga top scorer - and it seems he passed with flying colours.

From specific dietary needs to activities for his visiting children, Rainer notes that Kane was polite when making requests to the hotel staff and described him as "one of the most beloved long-stay guests" the hotel has ever had. He added: "He definitely used to order typically English bacon and baked beans for breakfast, time and time again. In the evenings he would have sushi and sashimi as a rule. He mostly used to eat in his room when he was by himself in Munich. But when his family came to visit him, they would always go to the hotel's restaurant.

"The Kanes didn't hold themselves aloof. On the contrary, they were very open and approachable. Harry never made special requests. He was one of the most down-to-earth guests we have ever had. When his wife Katie and family came to visit, we built some wigwams in their room for the children to play in. From time to time we let them have exclusive use of the pool on the roof terrace. But Harry never uttered a single extravagant wish for himself."

Rainer's words echo the sentiment that radiated from Kane's recent social media post, which thanked the hotel staff during his time at the Mandarin. The England international said his goodbyes after finally landing on a house of his own, which sees him inherit the home of former Bayern star Lucas Hernandez. The mansion also boasts a bizarre history, as a German film involving a sperm donor was shot there.

Now fully settled in Munich and undoubtedly well-stocked on his beloved bacon and baked beans, the 30-year-old can go about tearing through even more Bundesliga records. Kane is currently enjoying a well-deserved winter break - a rarity during his times with Spurs - before he returns to action against Hoffenheim on January 12.
