Arsenal make massive decision on Bukayo Saka's future as star winger nears long-awaited return from injury

Per the BBC, the Gunners are all set to meet Saka's representatives to discuss a contract extension, as the club aims to tie their star player down to a new long-term deal. Saka, who signed his last extension in 2022, currently earns a reported figure of £10m per season, but is due to drop into the free agency pool at the end of the 2006-07 campaign.

The England international has remained sidelined for the past three months after he tore his hamstring and subsequently underwent surgery in December. However, Saka remains a key member of Mikel Arteta's squad and the north London side have made it a priority to retain the 23-year-old's services.

Arteta provided an update on Saka's fitness at the weekend, as the Spanish coach claimed that the winger is due back at the training ground this week to increase the intensity of his rehabilitation and work with the ball at his feet in a competitive environment.

The Gunners will be back in action after the international break on April 1 as they host Fulham in the Premier League. It remains to be seen whether Saka will make his return to action in that London derby fixture.
