Who is the FIFA 23 cover star?

EA Sports is working on its latest edition of FIFA - FIFA 23 - and is expected to officially announce the game in July. The anticipation is building for the latest edition in the immensely popular video game series, with fans eager to see what changes have been made this time around.

FIFA 23 has the potential to be the best entry yet with a Crossplay feature set to be included to enhance the user experience. But what about the much-vaunted front cover? Which footballing superstars are the main ambassador of the game? GOAL takes a look.

Who is the FIFA 23 cover star?

Kylian Mbappe and Sam Kerr are the global cover stars for FIFA 23.

Chelsea and Australia star Kerr makes history as the first woman to ever grace the cover of the famous EA Sports football franchise, while Mbappe continues as the face of the game for the third year in a row, having already appeared as the sole cover star on FIFA 21 and FIFA 22.

The Paris Saint-Germain star responded to the news of his selection in a Twitter post: "Three in a row. Proud to feature on the cover again."

FIFA covers history - who has been on the front?

Prior to Mbappe, Eden Hazard was the global face of FIFA 20, with Virgil van Dijk adorning the Ultimate Edition. Before that, Cristiano Ronaldo was the cover star for FIFA 19 and FIFA 18.

Marco Reus was on the cover of FIFA 17, with Lionel Messi appearing on every cover from FIFA 13 to FIFA 16.
