Wrestling fans around the world are salivating at the prospect of a whole weekend of sensational SummerSlam action in New Jersey. For the first time, the grappling extravaganza becomes a two-night fest like WrestleMania has been since 2020. The canvas-crashing carnival at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford kicks off on Saturday, August 2 and finishes on Sunday, August 3. The WWE executives are so confident that it’s going to be a huge hit that the second-biggest annual production is already booked in for another two-night run next year.

The Cody Rhodes vs John Cena rematch is SummerSlam’s sizzling headline feature. The wrestling world has been waiting for the pair to reignite their ring rivalry following their historic clash at WrestleMania 41 back in April. The Undisputed WWE Championship belt, which is currently in Cena’s clutches, of course, is once again up for grabs. With time running out on Cena’s long and illustrious ring career, everyone wants to make sure they watch him in action before it's too late. However, there is an endless list of epic encounters in the offing throughout the wondrous weekend of wrestling, including Tiffany Stratton vs Jade Cargill, Gunther vs CM Punk, and Solo Sikoa vs Jacob Fatu.

It’s one of WWE’s prestigious ‘Big Five’ events each year, along with WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, Survivor Series and Money in the Bank. Rapper Cardi B, who hit the no.1 spot in the charts on both sides of the Atlantic with WAP in 2020, will serve as the SummerSlam hostess and Country music star, Jelly Roll, is also reportedly preparing to make his in-ring debut for WWE at the East Rutherford venue. WWE has been highly effective at integrating celebs into the product over the years and helping them put on the best matches possible, even with limited experience. Who can forget Mr. T, from ‘Rocky’ and ‘The A-Team’ fame, teaming up with Hulk Hogan against ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper and ‘Mr. Wonderful', Paul Orndorff, in the main event of the first WrestleMania ever in 1985.
