Melbourne Victory captain Carl Valeri has been named the winner of the 2016/17 Victory Medal, the club's highest individual honor.
Valeri picked up 62 votes, seven better than James Troisi, who finished second, with Marco Rojas coming in third with 37 votes.

Victory Medal votes were independently cast on a 3-2-1 basis by head coach Kevin Muscat and assistant coach Jean Paul de Marigny after every game, including finals.
Valeri played 27 times for the club during the A-League season, picking up the maximum votes on 11 occasions.
