Under-17 World Cup: Colombia coach - India will be very hard to play against

Colombia Under-17 coach Orlando Restrepo is concerned about his team’s defence ahead of the Under-17 World Cup next month.

"We are fixing the final details before the World Cup, especially in the defensive zone were we were having little trouble.

“The group is very united and we have been working with the players for a good time now,” said coach Restrepo.

He also appreciated the fact that the clubs from Colombia released the players in order for the national team to prepare for the Under-17 World Cup.

“The help and understanding from the different clubs here in Colombia has been really important for the team.

“We are planning to travel on September 20 and (possibly) play with New Zealand on September 26. Thereafter, we'll have 10 days to adjust the tactics before the beginning of the tournament,” he mentioned.

The Los Cafeteros are grouped alongside India, USA and Ghana in Group A of the Under-17 World Cup and are scheduled to play at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi.

“I think that rivals like USA and India will be very hard to play but will help us to improve our football and see in what level we are at the moment,” he concluded.
