Tusker home game against Sofapaka has been called off following a heavy downpour that pounded some part of the city on Sunday.

The weekend's top match was called off after the skies opened just 11 minutes from kick-off.

Players used plastic chairs to shield themselves from the rain while fans were forced to squeeze at the small VIP section part of the stadium to take cover.

The incident just brought back the old debate about the state of football pitches in the country which currently has Kasarani as the only all weather facility.

Nyayo Stadium, the second biggest in the country, is under renovation.
