Sanjoy Sen Minerva Punjab FC Mohun Bagan I-League 2017/2018I-League

Sanjoy Sen joins ATK as head of youth development

Sanjoy Sen, who had parted ways with Mohun Bagan last week after a streak of poor results, has now joined Indian Super League (ISL) side ATK as the head of youth development.

It's still not clear what will his role be in the second half of the one-year deal, but for now, he will look after the underperforming youth sides, who were beaten comprehensively in all the youth team tournaments.

A former coach of India U-16 team, Sen had worked with India internationals Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Jeje Lalpekhlua, Pritam Kotal and Prabir Das in their mid-teens. This will be his four stint at a major Kolkata club, having already served at United Sports Club, Mohammedan Sporting and Mohun Bagan.

Within a day of resigning, Sanjoy had stressed that he would not miss Mohun Bagan and would be back soon in football. ATK didn't waste any time to rope him in, with co-owner Sanjiv Goenka Goenka playing a key role in making the deal.

Sen joins the likes of Thangboi Singto, Derrick Pereira and Eelco Schattorie to join an ISL side after managing an I-League side.
