New coach Franco Foda has made quite an impact since his October arrival and will be stiff opposition when the Brasil Global Tour hits Vienna

Austria may not be heading to Russia for the World Cup this month, but they have already proved that will make stiff opposition for Brazil this Sunday when the Brasil Global Tour arrives in Vienna.

Since coach Franco Foda took charge in October 2017, Austria have shown significant signs of improvement and marched to seven consecutive victories.

And last weekend they saw off reigning world champions Germany, securing an impressive 2-1 victory after falling behind to an early Mesut Ozil goal.

Neymar's outrageous goal vs Croatia

Neymar, though! Outrageous!

Against the Germans, Austria looked dangerous on the counter-attack and solid at the back. And their current run of wins include defeats of Serbia and Uruguay

Brazil coach Tite and his staff have elected to face Austria in preparation for their opening World Cup clash, against Switzerland

This past weekend in Liverpool, Brazil came through a difficult first-half when a high-pressing Croatia team forced a number of early chances on the Selecao goal, while Brazil also struggled to break though a solid defence that kept a relatively low block in between bursts of pressing.

This weekend, Tite will be seeking to iron out some issues in midfield and may move Coutinho back to a central role with Neymar fast-approaching full-fitness following his long injury layoff.

The PSG star came off the bench to score a brilliant opener in the 2-0 win over Croatia and is now set to return to the starting line-up.

Brazil and Austria have met on nine previous occasions, in 7 friendlies and 2 World Cup matches. With seven victories, the Selecao are yet to taste defeat to Das Team

The five-time world champions have scored 14 goals against this weekend’s opponents and only conceded 5. The two sides last met in November 2014 when Roberto Firmino hit his first international goal to secure a 2-1 win, under previous coach Dunga.

Brazil and Austria meet on Sunday June 10 on the Brasil Global Tour in Vienna, in what will be the Selecao’s final test before their World Cup campaign begins
