Despite being destined to finish sixth, it has been a record-breaking season for Manchester United and Jose Mourinho has set another record in the final game of his maiden campaign at Old Trafford.

With nothing to play for against Crystal Palace other than pride, and a Europa League final against Ajax on the horizon, Mourinho has opted to rest the majority of his first team and in doing so has named the youngest ever Man United starting XI in Premier League history.

The inclusion of players such as Scott McTominay, Axel Tuanzebe and debutant Josh Harrop brings the average age of the United team to 22 years and 284 days.

At 31, Wayne Rooney is the oldest player in the team, which also includes Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Demetri Mitchell and goalkeeper Joel Pereira.

However, despite setting a new record, the Man United XI is interestingly still a total of two years and 145 days older than Ajax's last starting XI.
