Maritzburg United vs Kaizer Chiefs match delayed due to rain

The Premier Soccer League game between Maritzburg United and Kaizer Chiefs has been moved to 20h45 due to heavy rain. 

The encounter was initially scheduled for 20h15, but storm took over a few minutes before kick-off, forcing match commissioner Ronnie Smith to delay the match.

An assessment was made at 20h30, and both teams as well as match officials were happy to continue with the match.

Both sets of players were given five minutes to warm-up before the start of the game. 

The pitch looked in immaculate condition, and the game went ahead as planned in front of a packed Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg.

Maritzburg United were eyeing their first win of 2017, while Amakhosi went into the clash on the back of a convincing 3-1 over Free State Stars.
