Philadelphia Union defender Mark McKenzie has signed a new contract with the club, it has been confirmed.

The 20-year-old centre-back is now tied to the MLS side until 2022 but the Union has the option to extend for a further two seasons.

Salomon Kalou is in talks to join Fortuna Dusseldorf this month, according to Berliner Kurier.

The 34-year-old wants to leave Hertha Berlin in January due to his lack of playing time with the club and could find more opportunities with the relegation-threatened Fortuna.

Arda Turan has his heart set on joining Boca Juniors after having his loan at Basaksehir terminated early.

Olivier Giroud's agent has postponed a meeting with Inter as the two parties struggle to reach an agreement over a contract.

The Serie A side hope to lure the French striker to San Siro to strengthen their attack and he is looking forward to making the switch.

But L'Equipe reports that Inter are only offering him an 18-month deal, while Giroud wants one that runs for two and a half years. With the details still to be ironed out, his agent cancelled a meeting scheduled for this week.

AC Milan move in on Man City and Barca target


AC Milan are in negotiations with Dinamo Zagreb for coveted attacking midfielder Dani Olmo and have made a first bid for him.

The 21-year-old has been tracked by Europe's top sides for several years but has made clear that he wants to leave Croatia this month.

Zagreb are demanding €25 million for him and Milan are determined to sign him, but they could face competition from his former side Barcelona as well as Atletico Madrid, Manchester City, Tottenham and Monaco

Lautaro Martinez is "very happy" at Inter despite his form this season prompting reported interest from across Europe.

Argentina striker Martinez scored his 15th goal of the campaign during Inter's 1-1 draw against Atalanta at the weekend.

The 22-year-old's partnership in attack with Romelu Lukaku has established the Nerazzurri as serious title challengers to Juventus in Serie A.

Arsenal in advanced talks to sign Kurzawa


Arsenal are closing in on a deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Layvin Kurzawa, Goal can confirm.

The Gunners are in talks with the Ligue 1 champions over a move for the France international left-back, who has just six months left of his current contract.

Discussions between the two clubs are at an advanced stage, with Arsenal hoping to take advantage of the fact Kurzawa will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Louis Saha hopes Manchester United manage to complete a January move for Sporting CP star Bruno Fernandes and hopes he'll be the goalscoring midfield addition that the Red Devils are craving.

Billy Sharp has rejected an offer to leave Sheffield United, manager Chris Wilder has revealed.

The 33-year-old is wanted by the likes of Celtic, Leeds, Nottingham Forest and Derby, but he does not seem to want to leave the club.

“I had another chat with Billy this week and mentioned another club that is interested," Wilder said. 

“My stance hasn’t changed. It’s Billy’s choice... If Billy had given an indication he wants to go, then that would have happened with the amount of calls we’ve had.

The Premier League side tried to sign him last summer and he is also wanted by Brighton, Watford and Turkish giants Galatasaray.

Inter are prepared to offer €15 million (£13m/$17m) to sign Christian Eriksen from Tottenham this summer , Corriere dello Sport reports.

The Serie A side are willing to add €3m in bonuses to the deal in an attempt to talk Spurs down from their asking price.

The report states that the San Siro outfit are already in agreement with Eriksen over a €9m (£8m/$10m) per year deal that will run until 2024.

Tottenham have been urged to sign Barcelona centre-back Samuel Umtiti amid rumours that the Frenchman has been offered to the London club.

Former Spurs man Darren Bent believes having Umtiti put pen to paper would be a fantastic piece of business, telling Football Insider:

“If they can get Umtiti, wow. He’s big, strong, powerful and good on the ball, and he’s someone Mourinho can trust.

“He’s played in big games, won big competitions - obviously the World Cup which is a big one.

But while the 24-year-old admits the MLS offer is more advanced, he did state that his preference is to stay in Europe.

Australian club Melbourne City have signed former Athletic Club forward Markel Susaeta for the remainder of the A-League season.

City announced the transfer on Thursday following Susaeta's brief stint with Japanese giants Gamba Osaka, who the Spaniard joined in September.

Susaeta – a one-time Spain international – is a coup for City following his 507 matches for the La Liga side, where he sits fifth on the all-time appearances list.

LAFC confirm Vermeer signing


Los Angeles FC has confirmed the signing of veteran goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer from Feyenoord.

The 34-year-old moves to MLS after a 15-year career in the Eredivisie, where he represented Ajax, Feyenoord and Willem II.

“Kenneth is an experienced goalkeeper with an impressive track record of competing at the highest levels throughout his career,” said LAFC EVP & GM John Thorrington in a club release.

“We are confident that he will immediately fortify our goalkeeping core, and we look forward to welcoming him to the city of Los Angeles.”

Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel has acknowledged there could be departures in January, but is hoping Edinson Cavani will stay put.

Tottenham deal for Ze Luis falls through


Tottenham's potential deal for Porto striker Ze Luis won't go through due to work permit issues, reports the Daily Mail. 

With Harry Kane injured, the 28-year-old Cape Verde international had been proposed as a short-term alternative. 

But Spurs believed that Ze Luis, who only joined Porto from Spartak Moscow in July, would be unlikely to secure a work permit.

Klopp won't sanction any January sales


The Reds boss doesn't want to lose any of his players this month

Jurgen Klopp will not let any senior players leave this month in order to maximise the team's chances of winning the Premier League, according to the Mirror.

The German wants all of his squad available for the second half of the season as the Reds bid to end their 30-year wait for a league title.

Hasenhuttl blocks Adams move


Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has told the club's board he doesn't want Che Adams to leave the club this month, reports the Express.

The Saints were poised to accept a bid from Leeds for Adams that would see the striker head to Elland Road on loan with the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

However, Hasenhuttl insists he does not want to sell the 23-year-old, despite the striker failing to score in 19 appearances since his £15 million ($19m) move from Birmingham last summer.

Young still hopeful of Inter move


Ashley Young still hopes to seal a move from Manchester United to Inter, despite the Italian side being poised to sign another left-back, reports The Sun.

The Serie A outfit are closing in on a deal to sign Roma defender Leonardo Spinazzola in a straight swap that will see Matteo Politano go the other way.

Young, though, remains confident that Inter are still keen to sign him, either this month for a cut-price fee or on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Hammers eye Barkley loan


West Ham are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley on loan, according to the Mirror.

Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to bolster his midfield and has turned to the England international after missing out on Gedson Fernandes to Tottenham.

The Scot knows all about Barkley's abilities having handed him his senior debut as a 16-year-old at Everton in August 2011.
