Switzerland star Haris Seferovic was delighted with his team's achievement. He said: "We made history. We fought. Everyone for everyone. Everyone believed in it and that counts."

Didier Deschamps says the blame lies with him after France crashed out of Euro 2020. "With the penalty shootout, it's always cruel for a team, we're not used to that but you have to accept it," he told TF1. "The discussions in the locker room were important. We probably didn't deserve more, it's football. "I assume my responsibilities. There's no problem. When we win, the credit goes first and foremost to the players, when we lose it's the coach's fault. Today I'm sad like the whole group, but you have to accept it."

Switzerland hero Yann Sommer was proud of his team after such a resilient display and perfect penalty shootout. But he says France were arrogant against them, giving them the chance and motivation to win it. "I'm very proud of the team. How we did it. It's so nice to see that in front of my parents. The manner was superb," he told&nbsp;SRF. "We played against an incredible team. But they had a moment when they were too arrogant. And we said to ourselves that we would go to the end."

Xhaka the star for Switzerland

Hugo Lloris has defended Kylian Mbappe after the France striker missed the penalty that saw his side eliminated. The captain insists there is no single player who should be blamed for their exit, telling&nbsp;Bein Sports: "We win together, we lose together. We are all responsible. "Elimination at this stage of the competition is painful. There is no one to point the finger at. There are no excuses to be made. We must also highlight Switzerland's game, who were great tonight."

Raphael Varane feels France should have had killed the game off in extra-time instead of letting it go to the "lottery" that is a penalty shootout. "It's obviously a huge disappointment," he told&nbsp;TF1. "Penalties are a&nbsp;lottery, we could have scored in overtime, we had the chances. "We have a good group, there is a good mentality. We're going to analyse, keep our heads up. It will be very calm in the locker room, we are keeping our minds on our next objectives."

That was incredible penalty save from the Switzerland goalkeeper to deny Kylian Mbappe – and France – all the glory. It was an immensely deserved win for the Swiss after they worked tirelessly throughout the 120 minutes and shootout, scoring all five of their penalties perfectly,&nbsp;and they will now meet Spain in the quarter-finals. France will be hugely disappointed, but Switzerland showed so much fight after going 3-1 to get the better of the world champions.

It ends 3-3 after extra-time in Bucharest, after 120 minutes of thrilling football, with France vs Switzerland now heading into a penalty shootout to decide this Round of 16 game.&nbsp; Woosh! Here we go!

That would've been it. That should've been it. Olivier Giroud's header is a good effort, but there's not enough power, and the Swiss goalkeeper saves it comfortably.

There's not enough power behind Kylian Mbappe's shot to truly challenge the goal. It was a wonderful bit of play engineered by N'Golo Kante, though.

The crowd seemed to swell with anticipation once Kylian Mbappe had control of the ball outside of the box, but he took a tumble and couldn't get his shot away properly. It goes over the goal and into the stands. We're almost into half-time.
