Chelsea are considering a move for West Ham star Declan Rice, according to&nbsp;<a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/05/22/chelsea-revive-interest-declan-rice-could-use-tammy-abraham/" target="_blank">The Telegraph</a>. The Blues could offer Tammy Abraham as part of the deal to talk the Hammers down from their asking price, which may be as high as £90 million ($127m). Manchester United and Manchester City are also said to be interested, but Chelsea are eager to get him because Thomas Tuchel is an admirer.

Thomas Tuchel has admitted he would like to have Harry Kane as part of his Chelsea squad, but stopped short of saying the Blues are interested in the striker. Kane has been linked with a move away from Tottenham and several top teams are said to be interested, including the Stamford Bridge club. “If you find any coach around the world who would not like to have Harry Kane in his team, call me again. I would like to speak with the guy and hear about his ideas of scoring and attacking," Tuchel said at a press conference. “Everybody loves Harry Kane but let’s be very, very clear. He is a player for Tottenham. He has a long-term contract and we will not get involved in any press conference with any disrespectful comments about that."

Billy Gilmour, having earned a call-up for the Scotland national side for the European Championships this summer, has said that Mateo Kovacic plans to tell his Croatia team-mates to give his young club team-mate the rough treatment when the two national sides meet. Scotland will lock horns with Kovacic's Croatia as well as the Czech Republic and England as part of Group D, with other Chelsea colleagues such as Ben Chilwell, Reece James and Mason Mount likely to feature. Speaking to the <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/57207943" target="_blank">BBC</a> about his maiden call-up, 19-year-old Gilmour said: “I've already spoken to them all, they all congratulated me. “I was speaking to to Kova (Kovacic) and he's like, 'so you think you could play?' I said, 'well there could be a chance.' And he said, 'okay, I'll need to tell the boys to kick you and stuff. So it's just a bit of banter going on now.” Adding on how pleased he is at being given a chance by Scotland boss Steve Clarke, he said: “I've come through the youths, through Scotland teams, so when you're playing these games you're always watching the first team and thinking how am I going to get into that first team, how do I get my opportunity. “And by working hard and playing well to get my call-up, it's just been... I'm just so happy. It is stuff of dreams for a young boy. I'm really happy and I can't wait. “It doesn't get any bigger [than England vs Scotland at Wembley]. So it's going to be a great tournament and playing against a couple of the mates – of course I want to win. It will be good to see them but I'm just so excited to go and just so proud.”

Lincoln boss Michael Appleton has confirmed defender Sean Roughan has joined Chelsea on trial. Harry Kane’s future at Tottenham is up in the air after the forward told Tottenham he wanted to leave. Tottenham offered a straight bat to the reports that emerged at the start of the week, which prompted interest from Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United. A victory would guarantee Chelsea’s participation in next season’s Champions League, and they have been boosted by the news Villa will be without Matty Cash and Morgan Sanson on account of hamstring and knee injuries respectively.

PSV Eindhoven have confirmed their intention to sign Marco van Ginkel on a free transfer. The midfielder has been beset by injuries, and has failed to make any impact at Chelsea. He has been on loan at PSV since 2016, and the club’s technical director John de Jong has spoken positively about how the 28-year-old has ended the season and is looking to thrash out a contract. “It’s logical that we’re talking to him about a contract,” De Jong told <a href="https://www.ed.nl/psv/john-de-jong-speurt-deze-zomer-voor-elke-linie-naar-versterkingen-bij-psv-het-wordt-een-uitdagende-periode~a00f4cd5/" target="_blank">Eindhovens Dagblad</a>. “This also depends on financial conditions. “We waited until the moment he would be on a free transfer. Anton Ferdinand has denied ever receiving a call from John Terry in the wake of claims of racist abuse from the former Chelsea defender. Terry was acquitted of aiming racist abuse at Ferdinand at a trial, but the FA found him guilty of using "abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour" and he was hit with a ban. Terry spoke to the Times on Saturday saying he had attempted to reach out to Ferdinand. Ferdinand took to <a href="https://twitter.com/anton_ferdinand/status/1396031620444983300" target="_blank">Twitter</a> to say: “I never received a call personally from JT prior to the documentary or during the process.&nbsp; “As I stated on the doc, the door is still open to have a conversation if he’s serious about racism in football &amp; wanting to create positive change. Trevor Sinclair believes Tammy Abraham would fit in well at Manchester City. The striker is considered a sellable asset by the Blues and it has been reported they may offer him to West Ham or Tottenham in a deal to sign Declan Rice or Harry Kane. But Sinclair believes the forward would be better off continuing his career under Pep Guardiola, telling&nbsp;Talk Sport:&nbsp;“I think he’d suit Pep’s way. The German striker has been criticised a lot for his lack of goals at Stamford Bridge, but his coach has jumped to his defence again. “Don’t forget how many goalscorers in Europe shoot penalties for their team and it’s common that they reach their high numbers with penalties,” said Tuchel. “If we add the penalties we’ve had to his numbers, maybe everybody would be delighted with his first year. He hasn’t scored penalties, he doesn’t take them. We should consider that. “If we let Timo take all the penalties he could have had another 10 goals and then we’d be having a very different discussion with the exact same performance."

It can also increase the amount of pressure that you suddenly feel when you can hear the crowd moaning or not liking your actions. ‘My approach is that we should do everything to get our fans off their seats and to let them feel our energy and intensity that we give in matches. Let them feel our passion about the game, then they will feel their passion instantly and feel happy to support us even if not everything is perfect."

John Terry says he tried to reach out to Anton and Rio Ferdinand in the wake of claims of racist abuse from the former Chelsea defender. The ex-England centre-back was appeared in court over allegations of racism towards Anton Ferdinand during a clash between Chelsea and QPR, but Terry was found not guilty. “It’s disappointing to read and hear that I’ve never reached out,” Terry told <a href="https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/id-love-to-manage-a-top-club-but-id-turn-down-spurs-q0mk6c8mj" target="_blank">The Times</a>. “I tried to phone Rio [Anton’s brother] and Anton on numerous occasions, literally the same night [as the game], the day after and that week after the incident. Then about three, four years ago I see Rio on the beach in Dubai, so I approached him and said, ‘Have you got five minutes? I’d like to talk to you.’ He was like, ‘I don’t want to talk to you, JT.’ I was prepared to address the issue. “I tried to phone Anton, Rio and his agent, Jamie Moralee. And in the lead-up to the programme my legal team had contact with the producers with the view to communicate but they were very evasive with the content and what they were trying to achieve. It was a lot bigger than it should have been for me. We could have dealt with the issue. I was very keen to get that done.”

Terry: I reached out to Ferdinand over racism debacle

Kai Havertz says he is enjoying his role up front for Chelsea. The 21-year-old has been leading the attack for the Blues recently and scored three Premier League goals in that role.
