Chippa United part ways with Buyani Sali, announce three new signings

Chippa United have announced the departure of midfielder Buyani Sali from the club.

According to the club, both parties failed to agree terms on a new deal, and the diminutive midfielder decided to look elsewhere.

Chippa boss Siviwe Mpengesi thanked the 28-year-old for the club over the past four seasons.

Sali was previously linked with a possible move to Ajax Cape Town, but the with the Mother City-based club now relegated, it remains to be seen where the midfielder will be plying his trade next season.

Meanwhile, the Port Elizabeth-based outfit have confirmed the signings of Boikanyo Komane from Royal Eagles, Ntuxeko Ndlovu and Lucky Setelele from Cape Town All Stars.

The three players join Gift Motupa, who joined the club from Orlando Pirates following a successful loan spell at Baroka last season.

Chippa United are on a mission to reinforce their squad having already lost Paseka Mako to Orlando Pirates, while they could still lose Abel Mabaso to the same club in the near future.

Thabo Nthethe could be brought in to lead the club's defence next season, although nothing has yet to be confirmed by either party.

Coach Dan Malesela recently returned to the club to try and steer the ship in the right direction.

However, whether or not he had a say in the arrival of the three players is still unclear as he only rejoined the Chilli Boys this past weekend.
