Morocco coach Jamal Sellami is not lost on the challenge that awaits in Wednesday’s clash with Libya at the African Nations Championship.
The two North African sides are set for a semi-final showdown at Stade Mohamed V, Casablanca, in the quest for a place in Sunday’s climax.
Although the hosts have been tagged favorites ahead of the encounter, Libya are no way pushovers, having kicked out early tournament favourites Congo in the last round.
“It will be a good game and we're ready,” Sellami said.
“Libya has a good team and we know we will play against a great team. We need to focus and not to make mistakes against Libya. My players have a lot of experience on the pitch.
“We're working with the mental state of our players because I believe [Libya] will be tougher.
“The two countries have a mutual respect and that translates to the two football federations and the people, but we have a match to play and we want to win.”
Morocco beat Namibia 2-0 in the quarter-final to make the last four.
“I told my players in matches like this you need your big players to turn up and we have experienced players to do that,” added, Sellami.
“We were able to control our last against Namibia and we scored in key moments and made good changes in the process.
“I completely trust my players and we have a good balance in our team.
“We have many players who have been contacted by foreign clubs, but these players want to stay and defend the colours of our nation.”
It will be Morocco’s first ever semi-final appearance in the history of the African Nations Championship.
