Arsenal youngster Bennacer joins Empoli

The 19-year-old joins the recently-relegated side after failing to make the breakthrough with the Gunners senior team

Empoli have announced the capture of Ismael Bennacer from Arsenal on a permanent deal. 

The 19-year-old midfielder joins the Serie B side after signing for the Gunners from Ligue 2 side AC Arles-Avignon in 2015.

Arsenal 23/10 to win at Liverpool

During his time with Arsenal, Bennacer made one senior appearance for the Gunners, which came in the League Cup fourth-round defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in 2015. 

Last season, Bennacer split his time between Arsenal's U-23 side and a half-season loan with Ligue 2 side Tours FC. 

Bennacer was born in France to an Algerian father and Moroccan mother and has been capped once at senior level by Algeria. 

Empoli were relegated from Serie A following an 18th-place finish in the 2016-17 campaign.
